Simple Homemade Laundry Powder
Simple Washing Powder
16 cups baking soda
12 cups borax
8 cups grated castile or glycerin soap flakes
3 tablespoons lavender, lemon or grapefruit essential oil
Combine baking soda, borax and soap flakes. Add essential oil and mix with a wire whisk. Use 1⁄8 cup per load.

I bought some of this made by a friend who went into business selling lavender-scented products. Of course, she moved, so now I want to make my own! The ingredients in her soap and this recipe are the same, so I can’t wait to try it.
I like the sound of this. I am going to compare it to my regular detergent, do an experiment in the house, lol
